Formation of the new parliament is a significant change of the long political discord in Somalia. By abdi wali abdirahman

Yesterday events are the conclusion really of an over years of difficulties and controversial political discussions marks the starting of the final phase of the transition which will be concluded soon. It is one of the most important stapes move forward since the collapse of Siyad bare regime earlier 1991, its really brought an official end to Somalia's transitional administration after years of political disputes and widespread corruption that has entirely destroyed the respect of the TFG leaders by the international community’s as well as the Somali citizens who is really most vulnerable groups in Somalia, but the Formation of the new
parliament seems as a new momentum and hope of permanent solution for Somalia and these
new parliament came as the mandate for Somalia's transitional government ends.

Although the parliament inherits widespread corruption from outgoing leaders of the TFG, but the change seems with the dramatic and positive structure, however again there is a huge dilemma that needs to be resolved and new parliament should discuss it deliberately. first of all the new
parliament must work with all candidates in a fair and transparent manner and formulate certain
criteria for the presidential candidates.

Instance the parliament have to look at the background of the contenders such as their past political records and if they had participated the civil war that occurred since 1991 in the country, they should also look into the specification of the
competitors whether they are incompetent for the reconciliation among the Somalis and this is in fact center for stability of Somalia and I want to propose to the new parliament following issues; the president must be a person who is able to have a full support from the entire Somalis including Somaliland.

Because as we all know there were an initiative that has already in progress about political talks between the TFG leaders and Somaliland administration which is very important for a permanent solution of Somalia, therefore next president should be moderate and reasonable to the dialogue between the both parties, And I don’t think there’ll be a difference if the current leaders who is known widespread corruption and fraud return to the power, so it is very important for the parliament to discuss literally the upcoming presidential election.

Therefore the next president have to engage a process of negotiation with the Somaliland on the issues of Somali republic. Secondly Somalia has not have an stable central government since the defeat of Siyad bare regime earlier in 1991, so these new election It could have been an occasion for optimism, but it seems some candidates are already disqualified simply because they are unable to bring the nation together and act with all regions equally. so I hope Somali parliament will vote for the right person.

Using Bribery

One of the major problems that remains is the issue of bribery, some reliable source says that the outgoing TFG leaders are striving of using bribery and many other techniques in order to gain victory of the presidency, it is quit sad really to see same corrupt individuals to run the top office of the country, therefore international community must be conscious and take this issues decisively. Because over the past years the TFG leaders stolen millions of dollars offered by the international community, so it is advisable to put pressure on the TFG leaders to refrain from their candidacy for the presidency, international community have to impose order on current three top leaders to stay away from their application for the presidency.

Final point

I want to thank The technical selection committee who have made a commendable job during the selections process of the new parliament that have ultimately manufactured the new members of the parliament which is significant for the nation as well as the country. I also want to pay my gratitude to the technical committees of Their rejection about 70 nominees who did not meet the requirements to serve in parliament. And I’m absolutely delighted the judgment made by the committees, because the absent of the warlords and culprits in the parliament will be solution for the future, therefore the technical committee took a positive and admirable decision against thecriminals.
