Somali league: Banadir draws with Horseed as FC Ports hold Heegan With Somalia’s 2012 football championship entering its 5th day the Banadir sports club, one of the country’s oldest clubs drew with military owned club ‘Horseed’ in a very competitive match on Friday afternoon. Friday’s match attracted the attention of the biggest number of fans since the start of the competition on Monday. The match was also described as the ‘hottest’ in comparison with other matches played so far. The Banadir boys showed a very good exhibition which made the entire stadium so zealous and it dominated the whole match during the 90 minute period that it takes to play a football match. The first half of the match ended in 0-0, but Banadir’s young striker Dadir Amin Ali scored the first goal in the 57thminute of the second half. Horseed redoubled its efforts in a bid to score, while Banadir waged successive attacks on the opposite goal in search of a 2-0 win and it was still dominating the whole match. How ever as the referee was about to announce the end of the match whistle in the 90th minute of the match Horseed’s Yasin Jama Hussein equalized and the match ended in 1-1. “Football is very surprising event and you can’t claim for a win before the referee announces the last whistle---its doesn’t make sense how ever you are dominating the match or stronger, because as you see today with the 90th minute started and the match was 1-0 I thought my team won and will accumulate the 3 points, but that didn’t happen unfortunately” Banadir coach Abdirahman Moalim Ahmed told a post match press conference. Mean while on Thursday the FC Ports held the police club ‘Heegan’ in a hotly-contested match which ended in 1-1 draw. Heegan’s Jibril Hassan scored the goal for his team in the 31st minute of the first half, while Hussein Omar of FC Ports equalized in the 44th minute of the match which finally ended in 1-1 draw.
