Somali Government Condemns the Terror of Al Qaeda in the Capital (Mogadishu – September 12, 2012) The Somali government strongly condemns the attack of suicide bombers at the temporary residence of the new President-Elect, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, on Wednesday near the Mogadishu International Airport where five people were killed, including several civilians who were at the gate when two suicide bombers stormed the main gate. The government wishes to express condolence to the families who have lost loved ones in the cowardly attack. Also, we pray quick recovery for those who sustained injuries from the attack. The government alerted the security forces, and urged to remain vigilant as they increase the security of all government officials during the transition. Security remains a top priority for the government as it continues to crack down the terrorist cells within the capital. The Somali people have rejected the extremist ideology of Al Qaeda’s terrorism and its affiliates of Al Shabaab. One day after the historic election of the new President, the Somali people have expressed their confidence in the democratic system as well as the direction in which the country is currently heading to part way with anarchy and statelessness. ENDS Press Release 72/2012 الحكومة الصومالية تدين الهجوم الانتحاري في مقديشو تدين الحكومة الصومالية بشدة الهجوم الاتتحاري الذي استهدف اليوم الأربعاء مقر إقامة الرئيس الصومالي الجديد حسن شيخ محمود بالقرب من مطار مقديشو الدولي والذي قتل فيه خمسة أشخاص من بينهم مدنيون كانوا عند بوابة الفندق. ونفذ الهجومين انتحاريان اقتحما بوابة الفندق الذي يقطن فيه بصفة مؤقتة حسن شيخ محمود الرئيس الصومالي المنتخب. وتعرب الحكومة ببالغ الحزن والأسى عن تعازيها الحارة للأسر الذين فقدوا أحباءهم في هذا الهجوم الجبان كما أنها تسأل الشفاء العاجل لأولئك الذين أصيبوا بالجروح. وتخطر الحكومة قوات الأمن بأن تمارس في يقظة على حماية جميع المسؤوليين في الدولة خلال فترة تسلم الرئيس الجديد مهامه، لأن مهمة رقابة الأمن المشددة لقمع الخلايا الإرهابية داخل العاصمة والمناطق الأخرى أولوية قصوى بالنسبة للحكومة الصومالية. لقد رفض الشعب الصومالي الفكر المتطرف لحركة الشباب المرتبطة بتنظيم القاعدة الإرهابي وذللك عند ما أعرب عن ثقتة التامة للنظام الديمقراطي الذي أشرق بانتخاب رئيس جديد فضلا عن الاتجاه الذي تتجه البلاد حاليا للتخلص من الفوضى وانعدام الدولة.
